For everyone who has already put CM7 on their Touchpad, I'm going to direct you to a tutorial which will show you how to install the Android Market on your device. At the moment I am a bit busy to make the tutorial myself but I will definately do it once I have the time.
Head over to http://rootzwiki.com/topic/6613-how-to-install-google-market-apps-on-cm7-alpha-touchpad/ for the tutorial and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask here.
Happy Droiding :)

Installing Android CM7 Alpha 2.1 (Part 2)
Part 2 will prepare you computer and your Touchpad for the installation of Android. Please follow this step carefully.
1. Make sure you have checked all your md5 values againts the ones provided in the first part to ensure that your downloaded files are not damaged.
2. Install the WebOS SDK (7 on the list from part 1). This will install the necessary NOVACOM drivers to your computer so you can successfully run this installation. It is necessary to reboot your computer after this.
3. Boot your Touchpad and connect it via usb to your computer. When prompted, select USB drive on your touchpad. Open up the touchpad in windows explorer and make a new folder in the root directory called "cminstall" without quotes. Proceed to copy the .zip files 4, 5, and 6 from Part 1 into that folder. You may now disconnect the Touchpad from your computer and turn the Touchpad off. Turn the Touchpad back on but hold down the "volume up" button until a large white USB symbol appears.
4. Please navigate on your computer to "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP webOS\SDK\bin" for (64 bit) or
"C:\Program Files\HP webOS\SDK\bin" (for 32 bit). If neither of these locations exists on your computer; you have skipped or done step 2 incorrectly and will have to do it again. If this location does exist then you will need to extract the ACMEInstaller.zip that you downloaded earlier (3 on list) into this folder.
5. Now pay very close attention to this step. Open cmd.exe as Administrator START ->
search: "cmd.exe" -> Right-click and select "run as Administrator". type into the command prompt one of the following commands depending on what folder existed in the above step.
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\HP webOS\SDK\bin
or
cd C:\Program Files\HP webOS\SDK\bin
your screen should now look like this:
6. You will now have to run the command which will cause your Touchpad to reboot and install Android. Again in cmd.exe run the following command
novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller
Your Touchpad should now reboot and start showing many lines of code with two Penguins at the top. Wait a good 5 minutes for it to do it's thing, and it should then reboot to CM7.
If you had any issues at all with any of this please feel free to comment.
The next part will outline how to install the android market to your fresh install of Android.
Thanks

Installing Android CM7 Alpha 2.1 (Part 1)
Firstly, this version of Android for the HP Touchpad was developed by the Cyanogenmod team and full credit goes to them and the other developers out there who worked very hard to make this happen in such a short amount of time.
Secondly, this version of Android is still VERY BUGGY. It is not the full release and therefore certain things do not work at 100% and some not at all.
Thirdly, if you are not confident with computers DO NOT DO THIS TUTORIAL as you may very well brick your Touchpad. Neither myself or any of the developers at Cyanogenmod take any resposibility for damaged/bricked devices so consider this a warning.
For those of you that want to go ahead I will make this as easy to follow as I possibly can. I recommend that you read every step twice and then another 3 times until you are fully familiar with what needs to be done. This tutorial, once completed successfully, will allow you to have a dual booting Touchpad with WebOS and Cyanogenmod 7 (Android Gingerbread) given as boot options when you turn the device on. This tutorial also shows how to install Clockworkmod Recovery, which will allow us to install the Android Market and other google apps.
1. THINGS YOU WILL NEED BEFORE STARTING!
DO NOT FORGET TO CHECK YOUR MD5 VALUES AFTER DOWNLOAD TO AVOID BRICKING THE DEVICE!!!
64 bit windows: https://cdn.downloads.palm.com/sdkdownloads/3.0.2.652/sdkBinaries/HP_webOS_SDK-Win-3.0.2-652-x64.exe
I do not have a Mac so I cannot make a tutorial that suits Mac. If you have specific questions please google it and you will more than likely find your answer.
Please continue to Part 2 for installation preparation.

ITS HERE!!
GREAT NEWS!!!
Cyanogenmod have won the race to port android over to the HP Touchpad. I am currently having a play with it and think it's pretty sweet. Will be creating a full tutorial as soon as I can and posting it up. The process is pretty involved so I will put a lot of effort into making it easy to follow.
